Dogsled or Ski-jör in the Majestic Canadian Rockies We are a multi-activity Canmore Sled Dog Touring company offering primarily guided Dog Sled & Ski-joring tours on trails within Kananaskis Country just outside Banff National Park... Our trips range from 2 hour & half day to full day or multi-day on request. Each winter we work with the British Army for their winter adventure/survival training and have put together some extensive multi-day packages for them that we can pass on to you.
Why not enhance the dogsledding experience of a lifetime with a stay at our luxury Canmore accommodations. During the summer months you can meet the dogs and set your family on one of our nature trails.
Russell Donald started Mad Dogs and Englishman Expeditions 12 years ago after leaving his native Yorkshire about 3 years before. Originally it was a part time venture Says Russell. My main interest was Ski-joring In 2001 Russell was to field the first British Ski-joring team to take part in the Canmore's Dog Sled Classic, a sprint race held at the Nordic Centre in Canmore. Russell finished 3rd.
In 2002 Russell competed in a 40 mile sprint sled race in Elkford, BC. This race was important in that I just wanted to put experience on my dogs. The race was 40 miles each day over two days with accumulative times dictating the finishing position. It was a twelve dog race but, I chose to field two 10 dog teams with somebody else driving the second team. We finished 5 and 6 out of 12 competitors, with a 2 dog deficit so I was quite happy for my dogs. Now Russell offers expeditions for the British and Canadian army along with a thriving tour company. Offering the opportunity, after some training for you to drive your own dog team
